Role OverviewAs a Family Medicine Faculty, you will take on the role of a Preceptor for resident physicians, guiding them in providing medical care at our community-based outpatient clinic and inpatient services at our flagship 450-bed hospital located in Newport News, VA. Join a dedicated team passionate about teaching and committed to developing highly skilled and innovative Family Physicians. Previous experience in a faculty role is appreciated!
Key Responsibilities- Precept resident physicians in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Contribute to one of the oldest and most developed family medicine residency programs in the nation, emphasizing evidence-based medicine with 13 residents per PGY year.
- Engage in an ACGME-recognized osteopathic curriculum alongside both DO and MD faculty, focusing on quality patient care and personalized education for residents.
- Serve a diverse patient population, addressing the full spectrum of family medicine with a focus on disease prevention, management, health maintenance, and patient education.
- Utilize EPIC to connect all outpatient and inpatient facilities within our health system.
- Enjoy 4 weeks of scheduled paid time off (PTO), 1 week for continuing medical education (CME), and 5 designated holidays.
