Clinician Educator - Geriatrics

Our organization is on the lookout for enthusiastic Clinician Educators to enhance our expanding team within the Geriatrics Section of the College of Medicine. We are currently in search of two types of candidates: one with substantial experience in geriatrics medical education and another who is at the beginning of their career but eager to engage in teaching and academic growth. These positions offer a unique chance to make a significant impact on geriatrics education while improving clinical care in a prominent academic health environment.

Both roles come with a $25,000 sign-on bonus and up to $15,000 in relocation assistance.

• Experienced Candidate Path: This role is suited for a Geriatric board-certified clinician educator at the Associate or Assistant Professor level, possessing prior experience in geriatrics medical education. The selected candidate will take on the role of Assistant Program Director for the Geriatrics Fellowship, with opportunities for further educational leadership.
• Early Career Path: This position is ideal for a Geriatric board-certified clinician educator looking to enhance their teaching skills and leadership potential. The candidate will be allocated protected time to develop their educational portfolio and explore future leadership opportunities within the section.

The clinical duties encompass a combination of outpatient geriatrics practice and specialized consultative services, which may include:

• Outpatient primary care geriatrics
• Consultations in geriatric oncology
• Consultations at the Memory Care Clinic
• Potential Medical Directorship of the Memory Care Clinic
• Care in Assisted Living and Nursing Home settings within a Continuing Care Retirement Community

These roles include dedicated time for educational initiatives, such as curriculum development, mentorship of learners, and faculty development. The successful candidates will play a vital role in training fellows, residents, and medical students, with opportunities for scholarly work and academic advancement.
