This vibrant and expanding practice operates within a robust two-hospital ICU framework, catering to a wide range of complex, critically ill patients at the tertiary care facilities of our organization: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) in Boise and Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, located just 20 minutes from Boise. SARMC stands out as the leading provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary critical care services in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the treatment of complex, critically ill inpatients in a high-acuity ICU environment.
- Foster collaborative relationships with adult hospitalist services and other specialists.
- Utilize intermittent robotic telemedicine consultations as needed.
- Work a schedule of 161 ICU shifts annually, which includes both day and night shifts.
- Provide shift-based ICU coverage, which is not considered on-call duty.

At Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, you will find:
- A 22-bed Medical/Surgical ICU
- A 10-bed Cardiac ICU
- A 10-bed Cardiovascular/Thoracic ICU
We offer a variety of services, including Trauma, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Interventional Cardiology, interventional stroke care, Oncology, and General Surgery. The Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa features an 18-bed ICU equipped to perform all standard ICU procedures.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency and Critical Care fellowship.
- Board certification or the ability to obtain certification within three years of employment.
- Eligibility for Idaho and Oregon medical licensure, along with privileges at SARMC-Boise, SAMC-Nampa, and other affiliated hospitals as necessary.
- Valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
