There is no minimum work requirement. However, if you work 24 hours, you will receive 4 hours of paid shadowing time in any unit of your choice. • The Nurse Extern provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a range of basic patient care tasks related to common nursing functions and daily living activities.
• Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern supports the nursing team in delivering patient care in line with their skills and training, while also helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patient care.
• The Nurse Extern must be currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited nursing school (RN program) and can perform advanced procedures once competency is demonstrated.
• Flexible scheduling is available, with opportunities to earn shadowing time in additional units.
• After orientation and clinical skills assessment, nursing students will gain hands-on experience working alongside a Registered Nurse, performing a variety of nursing skills.
• There is an opportunity for early interviews for Graduate Nurse positions.

Qualifications Required:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN Nursing Program, having completed Nursing Fundamentals.
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
