Job Opportunity: Rheumatologist

Our organization is currently seeking a full-time Rheumatologist to join our team at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center located in Shreveport, Louisiana. This vibrant city lies along the Red River in the northwest region of the state, often referred to as the 'Ark-La-Tex', where the borders of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas converge. Here, you will experience a rich blend of cultural influences, including Cajun heritage and a touch of Texas charm, as we are just a short drive from the Texas border.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, collaborative, and dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of our Veterans. Our center is committed to delivering exceptional medical care while honoring those who have served our country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care and administrative duties across both teaching and non-teaching services.
  • Lead and support various facility performance initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and health outcomes.
  • Teach Rheumatology fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Conduct consultations, follow-up evaluations, and assessments for patients with diverse allergy issues.
  • Manage an infusion clinic for patients needing biologics and IV bisphosphonates.
  • Review patient no-shows, contact individuals regarding abnormal lab results, and handle medication refill requests.
Compensation and Work Schedule:

Starting Salary: $280,000 - $300,000

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

This role includes a faculty appointment at the affiliated Louisiana State University Health and Science Center.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree.
  • Current, unrestricted medical or surgical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of residency training or nearing completion.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Rheumatology.
