JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Civil Engineer, PE - Stormwater & Water Resources specializes in Stormwater and Water Resources Engineering. This position focuses on stormwater management design, hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling, and drainage design for land development and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. The ideal person is self-motivated and capable of managing technical design work, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, and delivering high-quality stormwater solutions from concept through construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate stormwater management systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal land development projects.
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling and drainage analysis for stormwater systems, detention/retention facilities, culverts, and storm sewer networks.
  • Prepare stormwater management reports, drainage studies, and engineering calculations.
  • Design storm sewer systems, detention basins, infiltration systems, and water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs.
  • Develop grading, drainage, and erosion control plans for site development projects.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation for civil infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, watershed districts, and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and approvals.
  • Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WinSLAMM, or similar tools.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal review and contractor coordination.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 4+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in stormwater or water resources.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Wisconsin and Minnesota stormwater regulations and permitting.
  • Stormwater management design for land development projects.
  • Experience preparing stormwater reports and drainage studies.
  • Familiarity with HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar modeling tools.
  • Experience coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
