About the Unit — Neurology (8E) Neurology 8E cares for patients experiencing acute and chronic neurological conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Team members gain valuable experience supporting complex neuro assessments, safety-focused care, and close interdisciplinary collaboration with therapy and neurology teams. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations. Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
