Senior Litigation Paralegal

Hybrid | Washington, DC


A respected law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support its busy litigation practice. This position is ideal for an experienced litigation professional who is comfortable managing complex matters, supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, and producing exceptional work product in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in all phases of litigation from case inception through trial and appeal.
  • Draft, prepare, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
  • Perform Bluebook cite-checking, citation verification, and proofreading of briefs, memoranda, and other court filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  • Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other research tools.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including document collection, review, organization, and production.
  • Prepare deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial materials, including exhibits, witness binders, trial notebooks, and demonstratives.
  • Coordinate with clients, experts, court personnel, vendors, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain case calendars, monitor litigation deadlines, and track key case developments.
  • Prepare and file documents in state and federal courts.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files and litigation databases.
  • Provide trial support, including courtroom logistics and exhibit management.
  • Mentor junior paralegals and assist with training and workflow coordination as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting complex commercial litigation or other sophisticated litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience with Bluebook citation, cite-checking, legal proofreading, and quality control of court filings.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal court rules and electronic filing procedures.
  • Experience managing large-scale discovery and document productions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Relativity, CaseMap, TrialDirector, PACER, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar litigation support platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, written communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
