Full-Time General Cardiologist Opportunity in a Major Public Health System in Silicon Valley

Enhancing Health for Everyone

Our organization, a prominent public teaching healthcare system associated with a leading medical school, is in search of a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist. This role is within our vibrant Department of Internal Medicine, specifically in the Division of Cardiology at our main medical center, with responsibilities extending to one of our other affiliated hospitals.

This position presents a unique chance to achieve both personal and professional fulfillment by serving our patients and diverse community, while also contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals in one of the most desirable locations in the United States.

About Our Organization

We are the second-largest county-owned health and hospital system in California, dedicated to enhancing the health of approximately 1.9 million residents in our county. Our system includes four hospitals: a central facility with 731 beds, a hospital with 358 licensed beds, another with 93 licensed beds, and a facility with 258 licensed beds. Additionally, we operate a network of primary care clinics, urgent care centers, dental services, behavioral health services, and a wide array of specialty services at our Valley Specialty Center.

Our main medical center hosts four residency programs and one fellowship training program, collaborating with a prestigious medical school for the clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows. We are recognized as an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, an ABA-verified Burn Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Level 4 NICU, and a nationally accredited Rehabilitation Center. Due to our location and specialized services, we cater not only to the county but also to the broader region.

Our healthcare providers benefit from an integrated electronic health record system (Epic), which consolidates patient information across the system. Our main medical center has achieved the highest recognition (Stage 7) from the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) for our ongoing innovation and optimization of both inpatient and outpatient electronic health records.

About the Community

Located in San Jose, California, at the heart of Silicon Valley, our organization offers a rich variety of cultural, recreational, and lifestyle options. Our physicians reside in diverse communities, ranging from urban areas like San Francisco to university towns such as Palo Alto, and from high-tech hubs in Silicon Valley to picturesque locations like Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. This region is one of the most sought-after in the country, just 45 minutes from the scenic Monterey Bay and three hours from the Sierra Nevada mountains, allowing our physicians to enjoy an exceptional quality of life.

About the Division

The Division of Cardiology provides both inpatient consultative services and outpatient care for patients with conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease. We play a vital role in training residents from our main medical center and are in the process of establishing ‘The Cardiovascular Center for Excellence‘ in collaboration with Cardiothoracic Surgery, while expanding our structural cardiology services.
