Your Leadership Role

As the Chief of Medical Physics, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Vision: Establish the direction for physics operations and ensure alignment with departmental and institutional objectives. Act as a key advisor on technology, capital planning, and clinical program development.
  • Clinical Excellence: Guarantee stringent quality assurance, patient safety, and adherence to all regulatory requirements. Supervise all physics operations, including treatment planning, machine QA, commissioning, calibration, and radiation safety protocols.
  • Innovation & Integration: Spearhead the adoption of new technologies, automation, and adaptive therapy workflows.
  • Mentorship & Talent Development: Foster a culture of academic growth through faculty development, resident training, supervision programs, mentorship, and staff engagement. Support teaching initiatives within our academic programs.
  • Research Advancement: Secure funding, promote collaborations, define strategic research directions, and translate findings into clinical innovations.
  • Organizational Representation: Enhance our national and international reputation through publications, presentations, and professional leadership roles.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning for technology and personnel.
  • Recruitment: Attract and retain skilled professionals who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and academic excellence.

Qualifications

  • Essential:
    • PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related discipline
    • ABR certification (or equivalent)
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in academic clinical medical physics
  • Desirable:
    • Over 10 years of leadership experience
    • Expertise across all modalities
    • Strong research background and experience in strategic planning
    • Proven ability to secure NIH or equivalent extramural funding

This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
  • Compensation based on academic rank and experience
