Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Evaluations

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become part of our team, focusing on medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Join us to carry out thorough eye examinations for Veterans. This position is a fulfilling, non-treatment role that emphasizes assessments only.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
  • Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online platform.
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
  • Carefully document examination results and complete necessary VA forms.

Important:This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is responsible for making disability determinations, not the provider.

Position Overview:
  • Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week.
  • Location: In-person role.
  • Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
  • Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

Qualifications:
  • Possesses an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
  • Experienced in Visual Field Testing (VFT).
  • Comfortable using technology for record review and documentation.
