Position Overview and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all operations within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC is responsible for directing, monitoring, and assessing nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Embraces a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, such as employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists in staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity standards.
  • Helps maintain proper inventory control and assists in managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
