Position Summary:We are on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to perform medical evaluations for veterans. This position is solely focused on independent assessments and does not include treatment responsibilities. Your duties will involve reviewing medical histories, conducting thorough evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) via a secure online platform. These evaluations will aid the VA in making accurate disability decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Examine and interpret veterans' medical records through a secure web portal.
- Conduct detailed, non-treating evaluations of veterans to document their current health status.
- Complete and submit DBQs using VA-specific templates to ensure all pertinent medical information is captured.
- Guarantee that all DBQs are comprehensive, precise, and submitted within 24 hours of the evaluation.
- Assess up to four veterans each day.
This is a part-time, in-person role requiring travel between McAllen, Laredo, and Corpus Christi.

- Adept at analyzing and synthesizing information from extensive medical records and physical assessments.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality.
- Comfortable and proficient in digital documentation and record examination.
- Committed to serving veterans and positively impacting their lives.
- Possession of an active MD or DO license with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred; candidates who have completed a two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
- Strong typing abilities and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
