Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increments.

The Cardiologist Physician is a specialized healthcare provider dedicated to delivering comprehensive patient care within their field of expertise.
This role involves full-time commitment at the Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS) - Leavenworth campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering competent care to a diverse population of Veterans, considering cultural, socio-economic, military service, and age-specific factors.
- Gathering pertinent health and medical histories.
- Conducting physical examinations based on patient age and history.
- Performing or ordering preventive and diagnostic procedures tailored to the patient's age and medical history.
- Identifying health and medical risk factors.
- Utilizing critical thinking skills in the diagnostic process.
- Synthesizing and analyzing collected data.
- Formulating differential diagnoses based on history, physical exams, and diagnostic test results.
- Prioritizing health needs of Veterans.
- Creating individualized treatment plans.
- Ordering additional diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Selecting suitable pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Developing patient education plans.
- Initiating consultations or referrals when appropriate.
- Establishing intervention priorities.
- Providing tailored care to meet the specific needs of Veterans.
- Implementing interventions aligned with the treatment plan.
- Initiating actions based on scientific principles, current knowledge, and clinical expertise.
- Ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic tests accurately, and communicating results to patients.
- Prescribing necessary pharmacologic agents and/or non-pharmacologic therapies.

- In inpatient settings, conducting rounds to monitor and document each patient's medical progress, updating medical records, adjusting orders as necessary, and informing the responsible physician of significant changes in patient conditions.
- In outpatient settings, assessing patients and managing acute and chronic illnesses, focusing on maintaining stable conditions, preventive care, and screenings. Consulting with other physicians regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as needed.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
