The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.
This position supports the mission of the Second Injury Board (SIB) in accordance with La. R.S. 23:1371.A by helping encourage the employment of individuals with disabilities through financial oversight of employer and insurer reimbursements. The incumbent monitors, audits, and manages the financial operations of a fund exceeding $40 million, ensuring compliance with procedures related to annual assessments, benefit reimbursements, claim settlements, and financial reporting. The position performs complex financial reviews, coordinates disbursements, and provides technical guidance to staff. Additionally, it serves as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting and financial matters.
Three years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

* Input validated payments into the database and distribute with explanations of non-eligible items.
* Audit claim documentation submitted by legal defense counsel.
* Calculate total reimbursement amounts owed.
* Process check requests for legal settlements and maintain reimbursement diaries.
* Coordinate with OSRAP to resolve outstanding check issues and reissue as needed
