If you possess experience in truck maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs—particularly with ready-mix or heavy machinery—we would love to hear from you! In this position, you will be responsible for general maintenance and repair of ready-mix trucks, ensuring the reliability and safe operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
  • Inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with shop leadership regarding significant issues and repair updates.
  • Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve or service malfunctioning assets.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, fluid checks, and tire/light inspections.
  • Service and maintain pumps, motors, and related components as required.
  • Weld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as necessary.
  • Purchase repair parts and materials needed to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Provide on-site service support at other plants or job sites when required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a truck mechanic is required.
  • Strong understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and appropriate safety devices.
  • Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout and special work permits.
  • Familiarity with maintenance-related software systems and computers.
  • Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Must provide personal tools up to ¾-inch drive.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A high school diploma is considered an asset.
  • Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Kiowa Plant located at 8750 Alan Ridge Rd, Kiowa, CO 80117. The role involves regular outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Key physical requirements include:

  • Utilizing fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and active hearing and vision.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs, as well as pushing or pulling as necessary.
  • Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs.

This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test. Travel to various job sites may be required as needed.
