Overview
32-35 hours per week - Our single-provider podiatry office is looking for an experienced Medical Office Manager who can lead our team through the daily challenges of private practice. Our office, located in Oregon, has been in business 21 years and we have a 4.9 star Google rating. We need an experienced and organized individual who can manage employee scheduling, employee training and employee oversight. Business records need to be kept orderly and supplies maintained, while keeping current on utility and vendor bills. You must be able to record our financial transactions in QuickBooks. The right person for this position will also be familiar with and will need to keep us compliant and current with government regulations. A thorough understanding of medical billing is desired, as this is a vital part of the medical practice. We have a large and loyal patient base and referrals are plentiful, even though we are an independent practice. Are you the person that is needed to fill this important position?
Duties
- Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up care plans using EMR (Electronic Medical Records). We use NextGen Office.
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing and collections with precision and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during documentation review and health information management activities.
- Assist with front desk responsibilities including answering multi-line phone systems, greeting patients, and managing patient intake procedures.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, scheduling procedures, and managing referrals.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry with 10 key typing skills, insurance verification, and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized clinic environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a strong background in medical administrative support or medical office management.
- Familiarity with EMR systems. We use NextGen Office.
- Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding for diagnoses, and familiarity with Medicare billing processes.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with medical terminology.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards along with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
