Medical Malpractice Paralegal Location: Cleveland, OH Schedule: Hybrid (3/2) Experience: 5+ years Practice Area: Defense Litigation (Medical Malpractice focus)

A high‐volume civil defense practice in Cleveland is seeking an Experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to support a busy team handling complex medical malpractice matters and broader defense litigation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced environment, is highly organized, and brings strong medical records experience to the table.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys through all phases of medical malpractice and civil defense litigation
  • Manage high‐volume case files, deadlines, and litigation calendars
  • Review, analyze, and summarize medical records; prepare medical chronologies and timelines
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Coordinate depositions, IMEs, expert communications, and trial preparation
  • Organize, index, and manage document production
  • Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and case notebooks
  • Communicate with clients, experts, carriers, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with billing, time entry, and litigation‐related administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience in medical malpractice or defense litigation
  • Strong background in medical records review, medical terminology, and case organization
  • Ability to manage a fast‐paced, high‐volume workload supporting multiple attorneys
  • Excellent writing, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and litigation support/document management systems
  • Professional communication skills and a strong client‐service mindset
