Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Location

Morgantown, WV

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Medical-Surgical floor unit with 32 total beds, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (1:3 Stepdown; 1:4–6 Floor)
• Manage and monitor common diagnoses including chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and hospice (GIP) patients
• Administer and monitor titratable drips in the Stepdown setting; manage PCAs, heparin, and similar infusions on the floor
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with continuous monitoring by telemetry monitor techs
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, and respiratory therapy as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed; adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements (2 weekends per schedule cycle)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of West Virginia or a compact state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience working in a Stepdown, PCU, IMC, or Medical-Surgical setting
• COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination as defined by current guidelines); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience managing titratable drips in a stepdown or intermediate care environment
• Familiarity with hospice or GIP hospice patient care within an acute care setting
• Experience floating across multiple unit types within a hospital system
