Senior Accountant
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial standards, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting. Your expertise will drive efficiency in our accounting processes and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Applicants MUST have experience in commercial construction and AIA billing. Responsibilities Prepare, analyze, and review general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Job cost accounting. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable including monthly progress billings via AIA documents. Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas and functions to support financial reporting and decision-making. Maintain and update QuickBooks. Assist with external audits, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements while maintaining meticulous documentation. Requirements Proven experience in commercial construction accounting with a strong understanding of accounting concepts and AIA billing. Proficiency in both QuickBooks and Excel. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in accounts payable/receivable management and account reconciliation processes. Ability to perform detailed analysis skills including journal entries creation, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Excellent organizational skills with experience in data entry (10 key typing) and bookkeeping practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A four-year degree in Accounting is preferred. Experience with billing, vendors, lien waivers, A/P and A/R is a must. This is an excellent opportunity with a well-established company offering market salary.
