Decommissioning & Removal
- Equipment De-installation: Safely remove existing Huawei ground equipment, including indoor/outdoor cabinets, base stations, BBUs, and associated mounting hardware.
- Cable Demolition: Identify, safely disconnect, and remove legacy trunk lines, hybrids, and jumper cables from ground conduits, ice bridges, and cable trays.
Physical Installation & Cable Pulling
- Heavy Cable Pulling: Lead the team in running, pulling, and securing heavy hybrid fiber/power cables, coaxial cables, and ground wires through conduits, trenching, ice bridges, and into equipment enclosures.
- Samsung Ground Hardware Installation: Physically install and mount new Samsung cabinets, Baseband Units (BBUs), power systems, and battery backups according to construction drawings.
- Cable Routing & Management: Route cables cleanly using proper hangers, strapping, and support systems, ensuring correct bend radiuses, proper grounding, and weatherproof sealing.
- Termination & Testing: Perform high-quality field terminations (coax connectors, power lugs, fiber connectors) and conduct physical line testing, including PIM and Sweep testing (Anritsu) and Fiber testing (OTDR/Light Meter) to validate line integrity before handoff.
Site Deployment & Support
- Closeout Documentation: Capture high-quality closeout photographs of all ground-level work, cable routing, grounding, and color-coding to prove compliance with construction drawings.
- Civil Site Coordination: Oversee basic civil work on-site, including concrete pads, grounding rings, and electrical conduits as required by the project design.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of telecom infrastructure or civil field experience, with at least 1–2 years acting as a Foreman, Crew Lead, or Lead Technician.
- Certifications: OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and RF Radiation Safety certifications.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in heavy cable management, conduit installation, mechanical assembly, and operating line testing equipment (Anritsu, PIM testers, fiber scopes).
- Physical Demands: Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, stand for long periods, and lift up to 75 lbs.
