Position Summary:

Our organization is in search of an innovative, collaborative, and growth-focused physician leader to take on the role of Medical Director for the Interventional Pain & Spine Center. This pivotal leadership position is tasked with developing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program aimed at addressing acute, chronic, cancer-related, and complex spinal pain issues.

Role Overview:

The Medical Director will be responsible for providing strategic, clinical, operational, and academic guidance for a rapidly advancing Pain Center. This individual will lead the creation of high-quality clinical services that facilitate effective management of complex pain through pharmacological, interventional, and non-interventional methods. A strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care, along with fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and clinical excellence, is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Supervise patient care delivery and enhance a comprehensive range of pain services, including medication management, image-guided spine interventions, neuromodulation, minimally invasive treatments, and multidisciplinary chronic pain pathways.
  • Program Growth: Collaborate with Department Chairs and institutional leadership to broaden outpatient clinics, procedural sites, and associated service lines to improve access, efficiency, and regional visibility.
  • Systemwide Collaboration: Establish strong partnerships across various departments such as Oncology, Acute Pain, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Primary Care, PM&R, Behavioral Health, Rheumatology, Palliative Care, and Rehabilitation Services to develop integrated, coordinated care models.
  • Education & Research: Create a Multidisciplinary Pain Fellowship Program, encourage faculty involvement in trainee education, and promote scholarly activities, clinical innovation, outcomes research, and participation in both regional and national initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage quality, safety, patient experience, provider recruitment and mentorship, along with overall program performance.

Time Allocation & Reporting:

  • Nonclinical Time: 20% allocated for administrative duties (as determined by the Chairs).
  • Reporting: Regular meetings with the Department Chairs or their representatives.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Education: Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Training: Completion of an accredited Pain Fellowship.
  • Certification: Board Certification and a valid medical license.
  • Experience:
    • 5-10 years of clinical experience preferred.
    • 3+ years of clinical leadership experience preferred.

      • Healthcare systems, quality, and safety metrics

Compensation Range:

$485,000.00 - $515,000.00 USD
