Commercial Mechanical Insulators – Apprentice & Journeyman

Location: North Texas
Company: Kodiak Solutions
Employment Type: Full-Time

Kodiak Solutions is seeking experienced Commercial Mechanical Insulators and motivated Apprentices for commercial construction projects throughout North Texas. Candidates will be working on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing piping, equipment, and related insulation systems in both indoor and outdoor construction environments.

Apprentice Mechanical Insulator

Pay: Up to $24.00/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of insulation on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing piping, and equipment.
  • Install and work with duct wrap, fiberglass pipe covering, rigid board, Armaflex, foam glass, phenolic insulation, and PVC or aluminum jacketing.
  • Read and use measuring tapes accurately.
  • Perform basic calculations for measurements and material usage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Assist other trades when project needs require.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Properly maintain PPE, company equipment, rental equipment, and personal hand tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial mechanical insulation experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10 preferred (certification assistance available).
  • Basic hand tools required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.

Journeyman Mechanical Insulator

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
  • Install insulation systems on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing piping, and equipment.
  • Install and fabricate fiberglass pipe covering, Armaflex, foam glass, phenolic insulation, rigid board, PVC jacketing, and aluminum jacketing.
  • Perform measurements and material takeoffs.
  • Independently plan and execute insulation installations.
  • Maintain quality workmanship and productivity standards.
  • Mentor apprentices and support workforce development.
  • Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training programs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of commercial mechanical insulation experience.
  • Proven experience insulating commercial HVAC systems, piping systems, and equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and project specifications.
  • Ability to perform material takeoffs and plan work activities.
  • OSHA 10 preferred (certification assistance available).
  • Required hand tools for the trade.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, elevated platforms, and in confined spaces.
  • Basic tablet and electronic document navigation skills are a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
