The RN Supervisor - Inpatient Rehabilitation Services provides visible, hands-on leadership and operational oversight for the inpatient rehabilitation unit. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through effective coordination of 24/7 clinical operations, staff performance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This position functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and maintains a consistent presence on the unit, working alongside nursing, therapy, physicians, and case management staff to support patient care, problem-solve in real time, and drive clinical excellence. The RN Supervisor balances front line engagement with leadership accountability, supporting day-to-day operations while maintaining responsibility for staff development, quality outcomes, patient experience, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Certifications: Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) - Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) within 2yrs; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required), Work Experience: Nursing in Acute Rehab >2yrs
Responsibilities
Manages personnel in assigned area, including interviewing, scheduling, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.Monitors employee performance and ensures timely communication related to goal setting, performance evaluations, and ongoing personnel actions.Develops, reviews, and revises department policies and procedures.Supports development and management of operational needs including staffing and resource allocation.Demonstrates and reinforces organizational standards, including the Carle Experience and Standards of Behavior.Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of inpatient rehabilitation unit operations. Maintains a consistent presence on the unit through rounding and active engagement with staff, patients, and families. Supports onboarding, orientation, and competency validation. Coordinates staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure safe and efficient operations. Addresses real-time operational concerns and escalates issues as appropriate. Maintains availability and presence during night and weekend shifts as operationally necessary to support audit completion, staff education, regulatory readiness, and implementation of unit-based initiatives. Participates in direct patient care as needed to support team operations and maintain clinical competency. Ensures patient care aligns with regulatory and accreditation standards. Collaborates with nursing, therapy, physicians, and case management to optimize patient outcomes. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning. Participates in/completes audits, surveys, and continuous improvement activities.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $47.53per hour - $81.75per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
