The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt Health is recruiting for a Vice Chair of Education to join our leadership team in Nashville, TN. The Vice Chair of Education will be responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of all educational programs within the Department including undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuing medical education programs. The Vice Chair of Education will work collaboratively and in partnership with the Department Chair, Program Directors, and organizational leadership to strengthen and support the educational mission across all levels of learners.

Position Highlights:

  1. Administrative (20-30% effort dependent on experience)
    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to all radiology educational programs
    • Partner with departmental and organizational leadership to advance the educational mission of Vanderbilt Health
    • Align departmental and organizational educational goals while remaining cognizant of evolving needs and trends across radiology
    • Foster innovation and modernization of radiology curriculum design and implementation
    • Ensure compliance with all accreditation and regulatory requirements (ACGME, ABR) and participate in accreditation reviews and site visits
    • Monitor key performance indicators of programs to ensure learner success
    • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment
    • Provide leadership and mentorship across interdisciplinary teams
    • Maintain a cadenced dialogue with Program Directors and Section Chiefs
  2. Clinical & Teaching (70-80%)
  • Partial clinical effort within a specialty or subspecialty
  • Participate in educational programs (i.e., lectures, conferences, teaching trainees, etc.)

Position Requirements:

  • Strategic and innovative leader with experience in radiology education
  • Successful record of educational scholarship
  • Knowledge of ACGME and ABR requirements
  • Experience with curriculum design and implementation
  • MD, DO or equivalent degree
  • Fellowship trained within a radiology subspecialty
  • ABR certified/active in Maintenance of Certification
  • Eligible for TN license
  • On-site role in Nashville, TN
