Our organization operates Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that offer:

  • Long-Term Care: Support for residents needing ongoing skilled assistance and compassionate daily care.
  • Short-Term Rehabilitation: Services for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
  • Collaborative Care: An interdisciplinary team approach involving nursing, therapy, and medical staff working in unison.

The patient demographics may vary slightly by facility. As a therapy professional, your role will be to assist patients in achieving functional improvements and enhancing their quality of life within a nurturing, patient-focused environment.

Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for delivering direct rehabilitation services in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited speech therapy program (minimum MS or MA in SLP).
  • ASHA certification (CCCs) OR eligibility for a 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to obtain ASHA certification (CCCs) and/or meet ASHA credentialing criteria. Maintenance of ASHA credentials is required once achieved.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
  • Act as a liaison with patients, families, and support departments.
  • Possess knowledge of practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in post-acute care facilities.
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information.
  • Understand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training.
  • For SLP CCC holders: Oversee and evaluate care provided by SLP CFYs.
  • For SLP CFYs: Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an SLP CCC, in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.
  • Utilize therapy software accurately and effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently.
