Shift: Day and Night Shifts (12-hour blocks: 7A7P, 7P7A)

About the Opportunity

Beaufort Memorial is excited to expand its Hospital Medicine program in-house and is seeking Board-Certified Hospitalist Physicians to join our collaborative, patient-centered team. Hospitalists at Beaufort Memorial provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure seamless transitions throughout the inpatient stay and upon discharge.

Highlights include:

• Join a team of Board-Certified Hospitalists and Advanced Practice Providers


• 12-hour shifts (7A7P or 7P7A) with dedicated admitter shift 9a-9p


• Average census: 1820 patients


• Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex medical cases


• Diverse case mix across a regional referral center


• 24/7 in-house support from Anesthesia and Pediatric Hospitalists


• Trauma surgery available on call


• Access to a wide range of specialists: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, ENT, GI, Nephrology, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery


• Intensivist coverage in-house 7A7P; Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider covers ICU at night


• ED physicians respond to hospital airways and codes


• 1099 and Employed options available

Position Requirements

• Broad knowledge of acute and chronic disease management


• Ability to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans


• Proficiency in hospital-based procedures consistent with hospitalist practice

Education & Training:

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school


• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Licensure & Certification:

• Current, unrestricted South Carolina medical license (M.D. or D.O.)


• Active state and federal controlled substance licenses


• Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (Hospital Medicine experience preferred)
