Diesel Mechanic


Pay: $60k - $70k/year


Shift: 1st Shift


Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join a growing service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine service on heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve equipment failures.
  • Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Complete repair documentation and maintain accurate service records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company safety procedures.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience repairing diesel-powered equipment, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, trucks, or similar machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a hands-on shop environment.


Preferred Experience

  • Heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or dealership service experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment.
  • Preventative maintenance and equipment inspection experience.
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
