WH Burkley, LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Attorney to join our Creditors' Rights team.This position involves managing a diverse caseload of collection matters from initial intake through final resolution, including settlement negotiations, litigation, and post-judgment enforcement. The attorney will collaborate closely with the department head to develop case strategies, represent clients in court proceedings, and support our clients in achieving their business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a solid understanding of civil litigation, collections and creditors' rights law, and a dedication to delivering outstanding client service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze collection matters, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and procedural rules.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Participate in hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations to advocate for clients' interests.
  • Provide sound legal advice to clients in out-of-court resolutions and related transactions.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and current case files and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar in good standing.
  • 3-6 years of experience, preferably involving representation of unsecured creditors, financial institutions, equipment sellers/lessors, and/or collection for taxing bodies.
  • A thorough knowledge of Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
