Evolver is seeking a Network Engineer specializing in Cisco hardware to join our team supporting government customers in Washington DC. In this role, you will support the project of redesigning and implementing upgraded network infrastructure.

This is an onsite role that requires you to be onsite at a Metro Accessible Government site in Washington DC 5 days a week with no teleworking.

Responsibilities:

• Configure/deploy/upgrade new network devices across main campus and remote sites.
• Recommend updates and changes for the existing core network switch configurations.
• Implement and maintain security protocols and measures to protect network infrastructure and data.
• Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to streamline network provisioning, configuration backup, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain accurate network documentation and network diagrams.
• Review existing WAN and LAN designs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5 years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience supporting large LAN/WAN networks.
• 2 years of experience with Cat 5e/6 and Fiber Cabling
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Cisco Switching, Routing, and Security products.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus Family Switches and Cisco Cat 9k.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is preferred, though not mandatory for the position.
• Certifications: CCNA (highly desirable), CCNP (preferred).
• Knowledge and work experience with Cisco SD-Access (desirable)
• Knowledge of Cisco ISE add Cisco Catalyst Center (Formerly DNA Center)
• Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
• Experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Cisco technologies
• Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.
• Experience setting up monitoring and backup solutions for network devices and infrastructure.
• Experience supporting projects such as deployment/decommissioning of switches, ports, routers, etc.
• Experience with automation tools for network provisioning and management.
