Job Overview

Join Duke Department on Family Medicine and Community Health at our Pickens Clinic. Duke's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a full-time, board-certified Family Physician (MD or DO) to join our innovative, team-based practice in Durham, NC. Join us in advancing primary care, obstetrics, and community health at one of the nation's leading academic health systems.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of a thriving faculty practice that serves a diverse patient community.
  • Work in a teaching environment with learners, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
  • Collaborate with Duke Primary Care, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Community Health, and other Duke programs.
  • Provide evidence‑based, team‑based care that focuses on patient needs.
  • Participate in obstetrics care with support from Duke OB/GYN, including call coverage (1 day/week, 1 weekend/month), newborn care at Duke Regional Hospital, and group prenatal and well‑child visits.
  • Serve a patient panel of ~15,000 patients (50% commercial, 50% governmental) with ~25,000 visits annually.
  • Directly supervise Family Medicine residents in prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care; mentor the next generation of leaders; engage in curriculum development and teaching.
Qualifications

Candidate must be a Board‑certified Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and an interest in medical education and community health. Experience and recently trained practitioners dedicated to providing compassionate patient care are encouraged to apply.
