Role OverviewThe Head of Enterprise Architecture (EA) will be part of the Enterprise Technology Services team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. EA serves as a strategic partner and advisor to both business and technology teams, offering proactive, holistic support to help achieve their goals. The ideal candidate is an experienced technologist with years of practical experience engineering and developing enterprise technology solutions. Each day in the role is an opportunity to drive outcomes in the form of industry‑leading digital client experiences. Collaboration and developing partnerships are a critical success factor.
You will build and support the EA Domain Architect Community that leverages collective experience to build a comprehensive portfolio of enterprise capabilities consumed by our diverse portfolio of insurance, investments, and benefits products & services. The ideal candidate must focus on facilitating technology solutions, keeping agility in balance with governance and standards. The focus of the role is building reusable patterns for enterprise consumption, creating a fast path for delivery of capabilities to the broader technology organization. EA plays a key role in guiding the adoption of new and emerging technologies to meet business needs. As we adopt new technologies, the EA community maintains a technology roadmap that addresses lifecycle management cost efficiency within our software portfolio.
What You’ll Do- Serve as a technology evangelist promoting advanced technologies such as Cloud Technologies (AWS/GCP), DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, GenAI, AgenticAI, and Quantum Computing.
- Establish and maintain an architecture community by sponsoring workshops focused on development of technology solutions and patterns that drive reuse and reduce time to market for new business services.
- Promote secure‑by‑design solutions and facilitate development of best practices and software capabilities to protect employee and client data.
- Promote the benefits of the EA Application Portfolio Platform (LeanIX) and drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure all business and technology services are well defined and leveraged appropriately.
- Facilitate alignment between business and IT, and across the democratized IT landscape by leveraging superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Engage business and IT stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships.
- Analyze trends and disruptions and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes.
- Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers, and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience operating in SAFe Agile and Scrum Frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong managerial accounting skills and expert in developing business cases and total cost of ownership models for technology investments and large transformation efforts.
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance.
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event‑driven IT and predictive analytics.
- Understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost‑benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, related graphical models, and frameworks.
- Insight into information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
- Understanding of various operating models such as project‑centric and product‑centric and several types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
- Awareness of existing, new, and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
- Effective leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience in developing and deploying ML/AI and data analytics solutions.
- Eight or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant.
- Eight or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.
- AWS Certified Architect and/or developer.
Salary Range: $250,000 – $300,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
