• Diagnosis, treats, and provides care for patients.
• Manages and coordinates patient care across specialists and providers.
• Orders and interprets tests.
• Prescribes medication and treatment regimens.
• Educates patients and their families.
• Conducts discharge planning and writes discharge summaries.
• Refers patients to medical specialists, social services, or other professionals.
• Participates in continuing education activities to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills.

• Requires Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Requires current BLS certification upon hire.
• Requires ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
