Salary: $47,000–$51,000 per year

We're seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Assistant Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team. If you enjoy working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting a mission-driven organization, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As our Assistant Bookkeeper, you'll help ensure the financial health and integrity of the organization by:

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Recording invoices, deposits, journal entries, and other financial transactions
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with payroll processing and payroll documentation
  • Tracking grant expenditures and maintaining financial records
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Supporting annual audits and year-end financial activities
  • Maintaining organized, accurate, and audit-ready financial documentation
  • Communicating professionally with staff, vendors, and funding partners
  • Supporting the Director of Finance & Administration with daily accounting operations

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • One (1) to two (2) years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administrative experience
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred

  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and grant-funded financial management
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Experience supporting audits and financial reporting

Salary

$47,000–$51,000 annually

Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
