Debt Finance Associate Attorney

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, banks, direct lenders, institutional investors, and corporate borrowers in sophisticated debt finance and leveraged lending transactions.

• 3–6 years of debt finance, leveraged finance, banking & finance, or commercial lending experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity sponsors, banks, direct lenders, institutional investors, and corporate borrowers

• Experience handling acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, syndicated lending, secured lending, cash flow lending, asset-based lending, recapitalizations, and refinancing transactions

• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, commitment letters, security agreements, collateral documents, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documents

• Experience managing financing transactions from due diligence through closing while coordinating lenders, borrowers, and opposing counsel

• Experience with unitranche facilities, mezzanine financings, debt capital markets transactions, or private credit transactions is a plus

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated finance transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
