Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)

Compensation:$80 per therapy session | $500 per occupational therapy evaluation

Position Summary

The Contract Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) will provide evaluations, direct therapy services, consultation, and documentation in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and District of Columbia special education requirements. The therapist will collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers to support students' participation and success in the educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to approximately 18 students in accordance with their IEPs.
• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and prepare written evaluation reports.
• Develop measurable IEP goals and objectives related to occupational therapy services.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation, including treatment notes, progress reports, and evaluation reports.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies based on individual needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school administrators, families, and other related service providers.
• Provide consultation regarding classroom accommodations, sensory supports, fine motor development, self-regulation, and adaptive strategies.
• Ensure services are delivered in compliance with District of Columbia regulations and professional standards of practice.
