Search Overview Vaco/Highspring has been engaged by a nationally recognized industry leader to identify a Regional HR Business Partner supporting a large multi-location field operation. This role aligns with the company's HR and talent strategy and partners closely with corporate leadership and field operations teams.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $115,000-$135,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of anticipated compensation. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
  • COLA: 10% cost-of-living adjustment in addition to base salary
  • Annual Bonus: 15% discretionary

Key Role Requirements

  • Travel: Must travel at least 30% throughout Northern California
  • 24/7 Operations Support: Comfortable supporting a 24/7 field operation, including occasional after-hours and off-shift work
  • Metrics-Driven & Merit-Based: Proven ability to track, interpret, and deliver on HR metrics including turnover, PT/FT workforce mix, engagement surveys, learning, and compliance
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and able to learn independently
  • Role Overview100% onsite in San Francisco when not traveling; not a remote or hybrid role. Includes approximately 30% annual travel with peak travel during summer months.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of San Francisco.
  • Provide daily HR support and employee relations guidance to managers and field operations teams in a high-volume, metric-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR business partner delivering HR programs, initiatives, and solutions across multiple field locations and functional areas.
  • Provide strategic and tactical HR support for a region of up to 1,000 FT and PT employees.
  • Maintain a strong field presence by visiting sites, building relationships, and serving as a primary HR resource.
  • Manage employee inquiries involving onboarding, benefits, FMLA, I-9s, employee relations, and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Partner with management on organizational design, workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, talent acquisition, and compensation initiatives.
  • Facilitate leadership development, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and employee recognition programs.
  • Analyze workforce and retention data to improve engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Lead or support implementation of HR platforms and initiatives.
  • Support the HR Director and broader people operations projects as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR Generalist and/or HR Business Partner experience with measurable impact in fast-paced field operations
  • Experience supporting unionized employee groups is required
  • Proven ability to travel approximately 30% annually across multiple locations
  • Strong HR analytics experience involving turnover, PT/FT workforce mix, employee surveys, learning, and compliance metrics
  • Track record of driving measurable business outcomes
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations and flexible schedules when needed
  • Experience supporting high-volume, field-based operations and hourly workforce populations such as manufacturing, distribution/logistics, hospitality, or retail
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations with complex schedules and changing priorities
  • Extensive employee relations, investigation, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation experience
  • Strong track record of driving engagement, retention, and business outcomes through management partnerships
  • Strong HR systems, reporting, and data analysis experience; benefits, FMLA, onboarding, and related platform experience preferred
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR certification preferred
