<p><strong>Technical & Regulatory Compliance Manager (Tank Containers | Dangerous Goods)</strong></p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br />Seeking an experienced Technical & Regulatory Compliance Manager to lead regulatory adherence and provide technical expertise for tank containers and hazardous materials transportation within a global organization. Based in Houston, TX (hybrid work arrangement after probation), this role offers an excellent opportunity to influence industry standards, support operational excellence, and advance your career as a technical authority across North American operations.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and interpret international and domestic regulations related to hazardous materials and tank containers, including UN Recommendations, IMDG Code, ADR/RID, PHMSA, Transport Canada, and MERCOSUR.</li><li>Assess regulatory impacts, communicate findings, and ensure internal policies and procedures remain compliant.</li><li>Serve as the primary technical resource for customers and internal teams on tank container compatibility, product selection, equipment modifications, maintenance, inspection, and transportation requirements.</li><li>Manage and prepare applications for Special Permits and renewals; support customers with regulatory approvals for specialized transport operations.</li><li>Develop and deliver technical training covering compliance, equipment design, safety, and product-specific information to internal teams and customers.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, sales, supply chain, and other business units on product development, equipment modifications, supplier evaluations, market research, and technical reviews.</li><li>Support incident investigations involving equipment failures or transportation incidents, providing technical reports and corrective actions.</li><li>Identify opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance through continuous improvement initiatives.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.</li><li>Proven experience supporting industrial equipment, transportation assets, pressure vessels, tank containers, or hazardous materials operations.</li><li>Strong understanding of engineering documentation, technical specifications, and regulatory frameworks such as DOT/PHMSA, IMDG Code, ADR/RID, UN Portable Tanks, and pressure equipment standards.</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Industry experience in tank containers, chemical manufacturing, dangerous goods transportation, industrial gases, cryogenic equipment, LNG, rail tank cars, bulk liquid, marine transportation, petrochemicals, or related fields.</li><li>Familiarity with CAD drawings, technical documentation, product safety standards, supplier management, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Education and Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline.</li><li>Prior experience in engineering consulting, regulatory affairs, or process engineering within relevant industries.</li></ul><p> </p>Pandologic.
