About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Accounting to take on a pivotal role in leading the accounting function across multiple entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting process, including the month-end and year-end close, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This hands-on position also involves overseeing accounting operations, managing job cost accounting for a high volume of active projects, and partnering with project and operations teams to monitor budgets, change orders, and cost-to-complete analysis. The role requires a leader who can maintain accurate project financials, support WIP reporting, and oversee progress billing and contract-based billing. Additionally, the Head of Accounting will be expected to strengthen internal controls, lead a small accounting team, and work within ERP/accounting systems to manage and improve financial processes. The ideal candidate for the Head of Accounting position at the company will have a strong background in accounting leadership, with a preference for those with experience in the construction or project-based industry. Deep knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP/percentage-of-completion accounting, and AIA billing is essential. Experience with ERP/accounting systems, particularly Sage, is strongly preferred. The role is suited to a professional who is adept at identifying and implementing process improvements, automation, and reporting enhancements, and who is capable of supporting ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives. The Head of Accounting will also be expected to partner closely with operations, project managers, and executive leadership, and to ensure proper documentation, coding, and internal controls.
