About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Legal Content to provide strategic leadership in the planning, development, and execution of its legal content software solutions. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, at least 10 years of industry-related experience, and a minimum of 3 years in an upper management role, with a strong background in estate planning and/or elder law. The VP, Legal Content will be responsible for overseeing the legal content team, establishing the strategic direction of the company's core software solutions, and ensuring the value, usability, and usefulness of these products to the company's members and prospects. This role requires excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to identify and implement best practices and continual performance measurement. Key responsibilities for the VP, Legal Content include supervising and supporting the legal content team, collaborating with the Chief Content Officer and other company leaders, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations and industry best practices. The role also involves maintaining current knowledge of trends in the legal technology industry, promoting collaboration across departments, and being proactive in addressing and resolving issues and risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the creative potential of using technology to solve legal problems and will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with document automation software is preferred, and the role requires a willingness to teach, present, and write, as well as occasional travel to conferences.
