About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Technical Accounting to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be the go-to expert on US GAAP, providing guidance on a range of complex financial matters, including accounting for new standards such as revenue recognition, leases, and financial instruments. This role involves leading the assessment and implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring compliance across business units, and partnering with various teams to analyze the accounting implications of strategic initiatives. The VP will also be responsible for overseeing the preparation of technical accounting documentation, monitoring emerging guidance, and supporting financial reporting teams with complex disclosures. Applicants for the Vice President, Technical Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years' experience in technical accounting, including a background in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or financial services, is required. The role demands a deep knowledge of US GAAP, with exposure to IFRS being a plus, and a proven track record in handling complex accounting issues within large financial institutions or similarly regulated environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to influence senior stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and evolving environment.
