Manufacturing company in Buffalo, NY looking for a mechanical engineer to join their team!!

1st shift hours

Salary based on experience - $75-85k

JOB DUTIES:

  • This role incorporates design, system integration, project installation, programming and/or repair of mechanical systems.
  • Report directly to the plant engineering manager and company owner.
  • Be assigned complex technical projects or business issues requiring advanced technical or industry knowledge.
  • Expected to work autonomously and be in charge of your own budget and timeline on projects
  • Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms
  • Serve in a leadership capacity to maintenance department, floor supervisors, and production workers
  • This role does not have any direct reports
  • Manage projects for successful and timely completion
  • Execute new product development projects from concept to design, testing, and implementation to production
  • Support production by designing and employing productivity and quality improvements
  • Gain swift understanding of a new machine or system in order to troubleshoot, repurpose and/or utilize
  • Perform system integration (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls)
  • Work in a dynamic environment and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Work with team members to identify and design required fixtures for manufacturing, testing, and assembly
  • Write detailed work instructions for machined components and assemblies
  • Create detailed drawings and design tools/fixtures as required.
  • Ensure all projects are consistent with industry standards and in accordance with good engineering practices

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years+ mechanical or electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong math, reasoning, creative and problem solving skills
  • BS/MS mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in solid modeling (Inventor and MasterCam are a plus)
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and exceptional technical skills
  • Experience/proficiency in some programming language (PLC is a plus)
