About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP for Reinsurance Operations, a senior leader tasked with the end-to-end management and continuous improvement of its Alternative Distribution business unit. This role is pivotal in maintaining a diverse portfolio of treaty reinsurance, Funds-At-Lloyd’s, and Delegated Underwriting Authority insurance and reinsurance risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational leadership in areas such as treaty administration, claims handling, accounting and reporting, and reinsurance analytics. Key duties include setting the operational strategy, ensuring robust control frameworks, and driving process automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities. Candidates for the VP position should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree or professional designation being desirable. A minimum of 15 years' experience in property and casualty reinsurance operations, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role, is required. The role demands a strong technical knowledge of P&C treaty types, reinsurance contract language, and experience in ceded recoveries, reinsurance accounting, and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading teams, driving process improvement, and partnering effectively across various functions. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and vendor management skills are essential, as is the ability to present high-level ideas to senior management. The VP will also be expected to have a strong executive presence, thought leadership, and experience in control design and assessment in IT systems.
