Overview Lathrop GPM is seeking an employment attorney for our growing labor, employment, and higher education practice in our Kansas City office. This position is a Counsel role. Responsibilities Provide advice to the firm’s business clients on employment matters and represent clients in employment litigation. Qualifications 8–10 years of employment law experience, including advising and litigation roles Experience in research, brief writing, preparation of pleadings, deposition advocacy, court hearings, policy drafting, investigation of complaints, and client advising Active Missouri law license in good standing Strong academic credentials, exceptional analytical and writing abilities, excellent client service skills, outstanding interpersonal and problem‑solving skills Ability to work collaboratively and a desire to appear in court with confident oral communication skills Compensation & Benefits Salary range is $200,000–$255,000 (actual salary may vary) Full comprehensive benefits plan including health care, retirement plan, paid days off, PTO, parental leave, and short‑/long‑term disability Hybrid working environment and a “Dress for Your Day” policy Monetary support for attorneys’ business development and professional development programming, mentor program, and inclusion networks Equal Opportunity Employer Lathrop GPM celebrates and supports diversity and the benefits it brings to our workplaces, clients, and communities.
