Rhino Medical is seeking Pediatric Hospitalist Physicians (MD/DO) for a locum tenens opportunity in Richmond, VA. This assignment offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and strong subspecialty support in a well-established pediatric hospitalist program.

Opportunity Details:

• Location: Richmond, VA
• Contract Type: Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Locum Tenens
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift Schedule:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekend & Nocturnist Candidates Considered
  • Locum Need: Flexible (short-term 2-6 months)
  • Temp Privileges Available for Eligible Providers
• Practice Setting: Pediatric Hospital Medicine
• Facility Details:
  • 17 Pediatric Beds
  • 8 Pediatric ICU (PICU) Beds
  • ICU Status: Open, Managed by Two Intensivists
  • Credentialing Timeline: 3+ Months
  • Transitioning from Pediatric Emergency Medicine to Pediatric Hospitalist Model
  • Locum Code Response: Required Post-Transition

Patient Load & Flow:

• Total Day Census: Up to 12 patients per provider
  • Backup Physician Called After 12 Patients
• Day Admissions: 5-6 per shift
• Night Admissions: 3-4 per shift
• Night Census: Pediatric Floor & Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Calls
• Beeper Call: Required

Provider Requirements:

• Certification:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine or Pediatrics
  • Eligible Within One Year of Training Completion
• Licensure: Active & Unrestricted VA State License & DEA
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS, PALS, NRP Required

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Procedures Required: Lumbar Punctures, Simple Incision & Drainage
• Subspecialty Backup Available:
  • Neurology
  • Infectious Disease
  • Gastroenterology (GI)
  • Endocrinology (Remote Consultation)
  • Pediatric Surgery
  • Orthopedics
