<p>Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse</p><p>Location: Show Low, Arizona<br>Pay: $31.00–$47.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications<br>Schedule: Full-time | Three 12-hour day shifts per week<br>Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday<br>Employment Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire Position<br>Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 total — $5,000 after 90 days and $5,000 after 12 months<br>Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 may be available. Relocation assistance requires a one-year employment commitment and must be repaid if the employee leaves before completing that commitment.</p><p>Position Summary</p><p>A hospital in Show Low, Arizona, is seeking experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurses for a permanent day-shift opportunity. The RN will care for medical-surgical, telemetry, and step-down patients with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, renal, infectious, and other acute conditions.</p><p>This position requires strong telemetry interpretation skills, confidence managing cardiac medications, and the ability to provide safe, organized care in a fast-paced acute-care environment.</p><p>Key Responsibilities<br>Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients.<br>Monitor patients using Philips telemetry equipment.<br>Validate cardiac rhythm interpretations completed by monitor technicians.<br>Document telemetry interpretations at least every four hours or more frequently when clinically indicated.<br>Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.<br>Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac infusions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.<br>Care for patients receiving medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, Bumex, Lasix, Integrilin, octreotide, and Protonix.<br>Provide care for patients with acute myocardial infarction, stroke, TIA, pneumonia, renal disease, dialysis needs, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, SIRS, and diabetes.<br>Support step-down patients requiring high-flow oxygen or home CPAP.<br>Coordinate care with hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, telemetry technicians, nursing assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.<br>Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.<br>Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation.<br>Follow infection-control and isolation procedures, including protocols for COVID-positive patients when needed.<br>Float to other medical-surgical units based on hospital staffing and patient-care needs.</p><p>Requirements<br>Active Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure in Arizona.<br>Minimum of one year of recent acute-care Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.<br>Telemetry experience, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring.<br>Experience caring for patients in an acute medical-surgical setting.<br>Ability to manage a typical telemetry assignment of four patients.<br>Ability to manage a typical PCU or step-down assignment of three patients.<br>Experience administering cardiac medications and IV therapies.<br>Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts per week.<br>Availability to work every other weekend.<br>Ability to float to other medical-surgical units.<br>Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications<br>Two or more years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience.<br>Experience caring for PCU or step-down patients.<br>Experience with Philips cardiac-monitoring systems.<br>Experience caring for patients requiring high-flow oxygen.<br>Experience caring for cardiac, neurological, renal, respiratory, and infectious-disease populations.<br>Familiarity with caring for patients receiving dialysis.<br>Ability to work effectively without dedicated IV-team support.</p><p>Unit Information<br>18 private patient rooms<br>Telemetry unit with six PCU-capable beds<br>Typical telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4<br>Typical PCU/step-down nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3<br>Charge nurse available 24/7<br>Charge nurse may carry zero to two patients when necessary<br>Monitor technicians provide centralized telemetry monitoring<br>Patient-care technicians, health unit coordinators, and nursing assistants support the unit<br>Nursing assistants generally divide the unit and may care for up to nine patients each<br>Hospitalist available in-house 24/7<br>Respiratory therapy available 24/7<br>Pharmacy available 24/7<br>No dedicated IV team<br>The unit may care for COVID-positive patients when needed</p>PandoLogic.
