Workout Credit Officer (VP) - Distressed Assets & Restructuring Join a major international bank's lending franchise at a pivotal moment. As economic headwinds continue to pressure commercial real estate and leveraged loan portfolios, this bank is expanding its workout and recovery team to protect asset value and guide borrowers through complex restructurings. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape credit outcomes on some of the market's most challenging deals. What You'll Do Manage a portfolio of distressed and underperforming loans, with a focus on commercial real estate and leveraged finance exposures Develop and execute workout and recovery strategies, including loan restructurings, covenant renegotiations, and collateral repositioning Lead borrowers and internal stakeholders through insolvency proceedings and Chapter 11 exit financing structures Assess risk exposure across the portfolio and recommend proactive mitigation strategies Partner closely with legal, risk, and senior credit teams to negotiate favorable outcomes for the bank Present recommendations and portfolio updates to senior leadership What You Bring 7 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, workout, restructuring, or distressed asset management Strong technical grounding in commercial real estate and/or leveraged finance credit Hands-on experience with insolvency proceedings, restructurings, and exit financing Sharp analytical instincts paired with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment Why This Role This is a chance to work at the center of the action during one of the more dynamic periods in credit markets, with direct exposure to senior leadership and complex, high-impact transactions.
