About the Role
The Company is in search of a Director/Executive Director of Annual Giving to lead its comprehensive, multi-channel annual giving program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, tactical direction, and overall management of the program, which includes global solicitation and stewardship strategies for various giving initiatives. This role requires a balance of high-level strategy and organizational leadership with hands-on efforts to create and execute fundraising solicitations. The Director/Executive Director will also be tasked with overseeing the Fund for Mary Washington, athletics fundraising, reunion giving, young alumni giving, parent and family giving, and leadership annual giving, among other programs that support the company's fundraising priorities. Applicants for the Director title should have at least 3 years' of professional experience in annual giving within higher education or a complex non-profit setting, along with a minimum of 2 years' of management experience. For the Executive Director title, a minimum of 5 years' of professional experience and 3 years' of management experience are required, as well as at least 1 year of director-level or equivalent leadership experience in annual giving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial, leadership, and supervisory skills, a proven track record in a goal-driven fundraising role, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is also a necessary qualification, and the candidate should be a strategic thinker with the ability to harness the creativity of others and the power of technology to develop and implement effective fundraising campaigns.
