About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Development Accounting to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all development and construction accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, budget management, draw administration, and audit compliance. This role involves direct management of the Development Accounting Department, including team development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. The AVP will also be a key business partner to various teams, including executive leadership, and will be involved in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as systems and process improvement. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a CPA designation preferred, and a minimum of 10 years' experience in construction accounting, including leadership responsibilities. Strong leadership, team development, and organizational management skills are essential, as is an extensive knowledge of development accounting principles, job costing, and project financing. The role requires advanced financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting capabilities, as well as exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with affordable housing, multifamily development, tax credit projects, and construction financing is also preferred. The AVP will be expected to build effective partnerships across the organization and to ensure the efficient transition of projects from construction to operations.
