About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) with a strong entrepreneurial mindset to lead its strategic development function. The CDO will be responsible for all fundraising efforts, including converting high-level relationships into substantial, multiyear revenue and partnership opportunities. This role requires a leader who can build and lead development operations with strategic sophistication, oversee a team, and drive the diversification of fundraising revenues. The CDO will work closely with the Executive Vice President and Chief Growth and Financial Officer to implement the organization's strategic priorities and will be expected to engage with various funding partners, corporate sponsors, and individuals to grow support. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' fundraising experience, with a proven track record in strategic planning and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern fundraising principles and best practices, as well as the ability to manage and motivate a development team. Experience in all areas of a comprehensive development program, particularly in institutional giving, is preferred. The CDO must be adept at integrating data into decision-making, have a working knowledge of data management practices, and be a forward thinker with a history of innovation in constituent engagement. The role also requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and to work with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
